A heavy blanket

It is recommended that people with high anxiety sleep under a heavy blanket. How does it work? When we wrap ourselves in such a blanket it forms a kind of cocoon around us. Our body feels that we are protected, these signals are being sent to our brain and our anxiety diminishes. Obviously, it doesn’t disappear completely, but it goes down enough to get us to a stable state. During the daytime, you can use heavy plaids, jackets, scarfs, and throws. They work in a similar manner.

Woolen or fur insoles

Our feet are very sensitive. Inducing sensations in them can improve our emotional state. One of the best methods of stimulating the nerve endings of the skin is to use fur and wool. Such sensations have a calming effect: this is why we love petting animals so much. How can you use it? You can get yourself a special fluffy carpet and walk on it barefoot or buy yourself fur slippers or insoles. It doesn’t matter if the fur is real or not. When your feet feel wool or fur your emotional state will get better.

Useful rituals

Introduce anti-anxiety rituals. There is one important condition – they need to contain methods that help diminish anxiety. For example, if you look in the mirror before you leave the house to make sure that your day goes well, you should also add to this ritual a breathing technique. Then your habit from an obsessive anxious action will turn into a useful anti-anxiety exercise.
